estrella burrito amor tulum 20pxCLEAN EATING

Burrito Amor was born when husband and wife Cameron and Paula first fell in love with Mexico in 2010, and in particular the culturally rich, fresh food and lifestyle of Mexico's West Coast.

So inspired they were, that on a whim in the middle of one ordinary Tuesday night, they booked flights, packed their bags and moved to Mexico. In the process entrusting to their brilliant staff both their formal 'white tablecloth' restaurant and their cocktail & jazz bar.

They left behind all things serious in search of a new way of eating and living.

The goal was, and still is, to create something more relevant to todays diner - something clean, fresh, conscious, healthy, accessible and relaxed, while always remaining authentic to Mexico's cool vibe and culture. And so, Burrito Amor was conceived.

5 years eating and playing throughout Mexico (and 3 children) later, and Burrito Amor was born, opening in the enchanting town of Tulum, located on Mexico's breathtaking Caribbean coast.

Shortly after opening, Cameron and Paula learned that one of thier children had severe food allergies, giving them an insight into how inaccessible todays restaurants, and supermarkets, are to the growing number of our population with dietary restrictions, whether such restrictions be medically or personally imposed.

This insight inspired Burrito Amor CLEAN EATING. A concept that represents a new level of healthy, fresh, conscious and super clean restaurant quality food and beverage.

While much of the superfood packed menu is Paleo and vegan friendly, and/or gluten, dairy, grain and egg free, the CLEAN EATING concept is not a consignment to any one specific eating regime, but more a representation of Burrito Amor's love and commitment to serving real food the way we belive it should be served - fresh, healthy, full of flavour and super clean... with a side of cool tunes and a cool vibe.

Aside from the food and drinks, Burrito Amor is also commited to affecting positive change in each local community within which it operates. With the understanding that the average person consumes aproximately 38,000 plastic straws in their lifetime, in Tulum, Burrito Amor only uses re-useable bamboo straws, and all take away packaging is recycleable and biodegradable. Furthermore Burrito Amor participates in a community wide plastic consumption reduction campaign, as well as participating in, and assisting with, an initiative to introduce recycling into the general community - a community, and state, that has never previously recycled.
